DT-CNC-120S · SEMI-AUTOMATIC SERVO SCREEN PRINTING

DT-CNC-120S Semi-Automatic Servo Screen Printing Machine

The DT-CNC-120S is an operator-loaded screen printing machine for bottles and shaped containers. Four servo-controlled movements manage print-head position, screen travel and product rotation, while optional camera or optical registration can be used for applications that require repeatable multi-color positioning.

MACHINE DESIGN

Servo-controlled printing in a standalone semi-automatic machine.

The DT-CNC-120S uses the same type of servo-driven motion and programmable control approach found in the larger DT-CNC automatic systems, but keeps part loading, unloading and color changeover with the operator. This provides a practical machine configuration for lower-volume production, frequent changeovers and applications that do not require a fully automatic rotary line.

01
OPERATOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Load, unload and manage the printing process

The DT-CNC-120S remains a semi-automatic machine. The operator loads the product into the fixture, removes it after printing and manages screen, ink and color changes as required by the job.

Load and unload the product Install screens and squeegees Manage ink and color changes Transfer parts for curing or drying when required

MULTI-COLOR REGISTRATION

Re-locate the product for the next registered color

Camera artwork positioning or an optical sensor can be used to locate a reference on the product. The fixture servo then rotates the container to the programmed position before the next print cycle.

SERVO-CONTROLLED MOTION

Four servo-controlled movements manage the print cycle.

The DT-CNC-120S uses servo motors for print-head horizontal travel, print-head vertical travel, screen stroke and fixture rotation. These movements are coordinated through the machine controls so the print cycle can be set around the actual container geometry and artwork location.

01

Print head left and right

Servo-driven horizontal head travel positions the printing assembly through the programmed cycle.

02

Print head up and down

Servo-driven vertical stroke controls approach, print contact and return movement.

03

Screen stroke

Independent servo drive controls the screen movement rather than relying solely on a pneumatic cylinder.

04

Fixture rotation

Servo-driven part rotation coordinates the container surface with the screen during printing.

MULTI-COLOR REGISTRATION

Camera or optical positioning for registered multi-color printing.

For multi-color applications, the DT-CNC-120S can use camera-based artwork positioning or an optical sensor to locate a reference on the part. The fixture servo then rotates the product to the programmed angular position before the next color is printed.

CAMERA VISION

Camera artwork positioning

The camera system views the product and uses a visible reference from the existing decoration or part to establish orientation. The fixture servo can then rotate the product to the programmed printing position before the next print cycle.

  • Useful when the job requires visual artwork-based alignment
  • Allows orientation to be corrected through servo-controlled fixture rotation
  • Camera registration is selected when the artwork or product provides a reliable visual reference
Registration accuracy is established with the actual part and artwork. Camera setup, fixture design and the visual reference are evaluated together during application testing.

OPTICAL SENSOR

Optical registration

For jobs with a feature that can be detected by an optical sensor, the sensor provides the reference point and the servo fixture rotates the product into the programmed print position.

  • Compact sensing method for a detectable artwork or product reference
  • Servo rotation establishes the angular position before printing
  • Best suited to a defined optical target with sufficient contrast
Different tool, same objective. Both methods are used to establish where the next print belongs; the product and artwork determine which approach makes sense.
MULTI-COLOR PRINTING SEQUENCE

How a multi-color job runs on the DT-CNC-120S.

For additional colors, the operator returns the part to the fixture. The selected registration system locates the reference, the fixture rotates to the programmed position, and the next color is printed. Drying and curing are configured for the ink and application.

01 Load

Place the product into the dedicated fixture.

02 Locate

Establish product orientation with the fixture, camera or optical reference.

03 Print

Run the programmed servo motion for the current color.

04 Change Color

Handle curing/drying and screen or ink changeover as required.

05 Re-register

Reload the product and locate the prior print or reference.

06 Print Next Color

Rotate to position and repeat the controlled print cycle.

Production fit: the DT-CNC-120S is intended for applications that need servo-controlled printing and repeatable registration but do not require automatic loading, multiple print stations, inline curing and automatic unloading.
PRODUCT CAPABILITY

Designed for round and shaped containers.

The DT-CNC-120S is designed for round, oval, square, triangular, hexagonal and octagonal containers. Print area and tooling are engineered around the actual part and artwork.

Round Diameter range: Ø20-120 mm (0.787-4.72 in.).
Oval Application-specific fixture and motion coordination.
Square Controlled rotation supports face-to-face print sequencing.
Triangular Special tooling is developed around the actual part.
Polygonal Hexagonal, octagonal and other multi-sided shapes.
Important: Maximum screen frame size is not the same as maximum printable image area. Usable print area depends on the container geometry, artwork orientation, screen travel and fixture design.

PLC + TOUCHSCREEN CONTROL

PLC and touchscreen control of machine motion and job settings.

The Inovance PLC and Weinview touchscreen coordinate the servo-driven movements from one operator interface. This is the control layer that lets the machine be set around the product geometry, print stroke and registration method rather than relying only on pneumatic cylinders and fixed mechanical stops.

Centralized operation Machine functions and motion settings are accessed from the touchscreen interface.
Servo coordination The PLC coordinates the four servo-driven machine movements.
Application setup Parameters are established around the part shape, artwork and fixture requirements.
Registration integration Camera or optical positioning can be integrated when the application requires rotational artwork location.
REGISTRATION SELECTION

Camera or optical sensing is selected from the actual part and artwork.

Camera vision and optical sensing serve different registration needs. Deco Tech selects the appropriate method based on the container, artwork, print locations, substrate, cure method and production target.

MACHINE SELECTION

When the DT-CNC-120S is the right level of automation.

The decision is primarily about production volume, operator involvement and how much of the process needs to happen automatically. The 120S keeps handling with the operator while automating the critical print motion and registration functions.

DT-CNC-120S

Use the 120S when flexibility matters

Well suited to operator-loaded production, multiple SKUs, frequent job changes and single- or multi-color container printing where servo-controlled motion and registration are required without a full rotary automation line.
