The X-POSÉ 200W is a compact UV vacuum exposure unit for making photopolymer pad printing clichés in-house. It combines digital exposure timing, vacuum monitoring and automatic vacuum release in a plate-making format.
Exposure units are prepress machines that use controlled ultraviolet light to transfer artwork from a film positive into a photosensitive screen stencil or photopolymer printing plate. They are used before printing to create the image carrier that will ultimately transfer ink to the part.
In screen printing, UV light hardens the exposed areas of photo emulsion on the mesh. The unexposed emulsion is then washed away to create the open stencil through which ink passes. In pad printing, UV exposure is used during photopolymer cliché making so the artwork can be developed into the recessed image that holds and transfers the ink.
A vacuum system pulls the artwork film tightly against the coated screen or photopolymer plate during exposure. Close contact helps reduce light undercutting around the artwork and improves reproduction of small text, fine lines and image edges.
Exposure systems can use different UV light sources depending on the application. The DT-120150-LED uses a high-output LED array for large screen frames, while the X-POSÉ 200W uses UV fluorescent tubes in a compact format designed for photopolymer pad printing clichés.
